God is not here to make it easier for us. God’s favour on us does not mean that it gets easier. We do not see that in the life of the disciples. We definitely don't see that in the life of Christ. Too many people have this posture when they experience a trouble in their life, when following God, when being righteous, when doing the right thing, when that leads to trials in their life, they go, Lord, I don't see you to be faithful. I was being faithful and giving, and now I don't have this money. Lord, I was being faithful and honoring you. And I missed out on this opportunity. You know, what we're saying? Lord, if I just did the unrighteous or the unfaithful thing, my life would be going very well. There's the improper logic.
